Animal Disaster Services is always looking for dedicated volunteers. Volunteers are expected to attend meetings, trainings, events, and activities. Volunteers are expected to provide a calm and safe environment for each other and the animals in our care in evacuation shelters. Shelter duties may include set up and take down of shelter equipment and supplies, completion of paperwork, cleaning, feeding, dog walking, and playtime.
A.D.S. does provide services under the direction of Yavapai County Emergency Management. All volunteers must complete the county's intake process, including a background check.
Our volunteers make this all possible! Volunteers donated a combined 785.7 hours in 2022.
Beginning August, 2023, general volunteer meetings are held the third Tuesday of February, April, June, August, and October at 6:00 p.m. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, you are more than welcome to attend a meeting.
