Animal Disaster Services is always looking for dedicated volunteers. Volunteers attend meetings, trainings, events, and activities. Volunteers provide a calm, clean, and safe environment for each other and the animals in our care in emergency evacuation shelters. Shelter duties may include set up and take down of shelter equipment and supplies, completion of paperwork, cleaning, feeding, dog walking, and playtime.
A.D.S. does provide services under the direction of Yavapai County Emergency Management. All volunteers must complete the county's intake process, including a background check.
Our volunteers make this all possible! Volunteers donated a combined 785 hours in 2022 and 966 hours in 2023.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, you are more than welcome to attend a General Volunteer Meeting. Meeting dates, times, and locations are included on our Calendar page. Meetings are generally conducted in February, April, June, August, and October.
For more information and/or to be added to our mailing list, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator at LisaBird.ADS@gmail.com.
Still not sure? Stop by our booth at one of the following Volunteer Fairs and Expos for more information.
Animal Disaster Services has recognized Carol Vogel as the 2023 Volunteer of the Year.
Carol brings so much enthusiasm to the organization as a Board Member and in her role as Event Coordinator. She has and continues to surpass all expectations.
If you haven't met Carol at one of the many events she attends on behalf of Animal Disaster Services throughout the year, be sure to stop by and say "hi!"
In addition to spreading the message of emergency preparedness and helping pets displaced by emergency evacuation, Carol is a cat foster mom. She truly loves animals and in our eyes, she is an angel.
Thank you Carol!
