"Volunteers don't get paid, not because they're worthless, but because they're priceless."

Sherry Anderson

BECOME A VOLUNTEER

Animal Disaster Services is always looking for dedicated volunteers.  Volunteers attend meetings, trainings, events, and activities.  Volunteers provide a calm, clean, and safe environment for each other and the animals in our care in emergency evacuation shelters.  Shelter duties may include set up and take down of shelter equipment and supplies, completion of paperwork, cleaning, feeding, dog walking, and playtime.

All volunteers must complete a formal intake process, including a background check.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, you are more than welcome to attend a General Volunteer Meeting.  Meeting dates, times, and locations are included on our Calendar page. Meetings are generally conducted in February, April, June, August, and October.

For more information and/or to be added to our mailing list, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator at LisaBird.ADS@gmail.com.

Our volunteers make this all possible.  From meetings to  events and presentations, trainings to shelters, and so much more, volunteers donated a combined 785 hours in 2022, 966 hours in 2023, and 1525 hours in 2024.
